John Andrews (footballer, born 1978)

In 2004, he embarked on a scholarship to the Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee, where he stayed until 2007 Andrews started his senior career with Coventry City, but did not make any first-team appearances for the club and left in May 1998.

He joined Shepshed Dynamo in time for the 1998–99 season before being signed by Southern League Premier Division side Grantham Town in November 1998.

He made a handful of appearances in the first three months of the following season, but was following a 0–4 defeat to Peterborough United in an FA Cup first round replay on 28 November 2000 and never played for the club again.

[6] He made his first appearance for Afturelding on 16 May 2008, coming on as a late substitute for Wentzel Kamban in the 2–2 draw away at ÍH and went on to play 22 first-team matches during the season as the side won promotion to the 1. deild karla.

[7] At the end of the campaign, he was one of four Afturelding players awarded a place in the Team of the Year by the KSÍ along with Rannver Sigurjónsson, Tómas Jorsteinsson and Paul Clapson.

[6] During the 2008 season Andrews was appointed manager of the reserve side Hvíti Riddarinn, the main feeder club to Afturelding, and he led the team to a fifth-place finish in their return to league football.

[13] On 23 July 2010, Andrews was appointed manager of the Afturelding women's team until the end of the season following the departure of former coach Ásgrímur Helgi Einarsson.
