John Arrowsmith (scholar)

John Arrowsmith (29 March 1602 – 15 February 1659) was an English theologian and academic.

Arrowsmith was born near Gateshead and entered St John's College, Cambridge, in 1616.

He was a member of the Westminster Assembly and preached to the Long Parliament on a number of occasions.

[citation needed] In 1651, he was elected Regius Professor of Divinity, and, in 1653, Master of Trinity College.
