John Curran (Irish politician)

John Curran (born 17 June 1960) is an Irish former Fianna Fáil politician who served as Chair of the Committee on Housing and Homelessness from 2016 to 2020 and a Minister of State from 2008 to 2011.

He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin Mid-West constituency from 2002 to 2011 and 2016 to 2020.

[1] Following his re-election in 2016, he chaired the all-party Oireachtas Housing and Homelessness Committee.

[2] On 13 May 2008, shortly after Brian Cowen became Taoiseach, he was appointed as Minister of State at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs with special responsibility for the National Drugs Strategy and Community Affairs.

[2][10][11] In December 2022, he was named as one of the members of the Electoral Commission which is due to be established in early 2023.
