McIntosh was a star athlete at the University of Georgia in the late 1890s, and later moved west to coach football.
[1] McIntosh moved west to New Mexico and continued his practice as a lawyer.
[1] He was then athletic director and professor of English at Montana State College.
[1] McIntosh committed suicide on July 14, 1925, when he jumped out of the window of his office at the American Bank building in Seattle.
[2] The World War II Liberty Ship SS John H. McIntosh was named in his honor.
