John Henry Livingston (1848–1927)

[4][5] After his mother's death a short time after his birth, his father remarried to neighbor Mary Colden (née Swartout) Livingston.

[8] His grandfather's second wife, the former Mary Crooke Broom,[9] remarried to Judge Charles Herman Ruggles.

[21] Livingston served as President of the Colonial Lords of Manors in America and was an officer of the Society of the Cincinnati.

[4] Together, they were the parents of one daughter: After Catherine's death from complications from childbirth on April 19, 1873, he married Emily Evans on October 30, 1880.

[25] Together, they were the parents of two daughters:[26] Livingston died of influenza-related illnesses at "The Bandbox", his winter residence in Aiken, South Carolina on January 27, 1927.
