John Jefferson Davis is Professor of Systematic Theology and Christian Ethics at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he has taught since 1975.

His most influential debates involve women's ordination and Christian Egalitarianism.

Davis served as the president of the Evangelical Philosophical Society from 1980 to 1981.
