John Peter Howard III[1] (born June 11, 1984)[2] is an American lawyer who serves as an associate judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
He received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, which he attended as an Opportunity Scholar, in 2010.
[9] On August 5, 2021, President Joe Biden renominated Howard to serve as an associate judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
[6] President Biden nominated Howard to the seat vacated by Judge Phyllis D. Thompson, whose term will expire on September 4, 2021.
[10] On December 2, 2021, a hearing on his nomination was held before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
