John Palmer (January 29, 1785 – December 8, 1840) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from New York from 1817 to 1819.
He was born in Hoosick, Rensselaer County, New York.
Palmer also served as paymaster in the Eighth Regiment of the New York Militia during the War of 1812.
For part of the year 1832, he was a member of the New York State Assembly, after which he served as judge of Clinton County until 1837, when he resigned.
Palmer died in St. Bartholomew in the French West Indies at the age of 55.
