John Quigley (hurler)

He played hurling with his local club Rathnure and with the Wexford senior inter-county team in the 1960s and 1970s.

Quigley first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Wexford minor hurling team in the 1960s.

Quigley won his first Leinster title in 1968, before lining out in Croke Park for the All-Ireland final.

Kilkenny dominated the Leinster Championship for the next five years, however, Quigley won a National Hurling League medal in 1973.

Quigley won a fourth Leinster medal in 1977, however, for the second year in-a-row Cork defeated Wexford in the All-Ireland final.
