John Strand

John Gregory Strand is a contemporary American playwright.

Among his plays are Lincolnesque,[2][3][4] Three Nights in Tehran,[5] The Diaries,[6] Otabenga,[7][8] and The Originalist.

[18][19][20][21] He has also written a number of English-language adaptions of plays written in French: among these are Lovers and Executioners (Antoine Jacob de Montfleury's La Femme Juge et Partie);[22][23][24] The Miser (Molière);[25] Lorenzaccio (Alfred de Musset);[26] Hat!

(Eugène Labiche's Un Chapeau de Paille d'Italie);[27][28] and Hernani (Victor Hugo).

[29] In 1985 he launched (along with Kathy Acker, Eduard Limonov, and Bernard-Henri Lévy) a Paris-based literary magazine called Paris Exiles.
