While playing college baseball for the Florida Gators, India was named an All-American in 2018, and won the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 2018.

After striking out in his first at–bat, India got his first major league hit in his second, a double down the left field line off of St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty, and also collected a single off of Ryan Helsley in at bat number three.
