[3] On 23 December 2012, while swimming with his wife Sarah at Avoca Beach on the New South Wales Central Coast, Milne broke his neck diving into the ocean,[4] leaving him paralysed from the chest down.
[4][6] He completed a Certificate III in carpentry at TAFE in 2012,[3] but now works full-time at the Abbey Archery store in Castle Hill, New South Wales.
He was selected to compete for Australia at the 2015 Para World Championships in Donaueschingen in Germany,[3] where if he placed within the top 19 he would qualify for the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
He placed an impressive fourth, losing the bronze medal final to Great Britain's John Stubbs.
[9] As of July 2016[update], he is ranked number 40 in the world in the men's open compound classification, and is coached by Ricci Cheah.
[1] At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, he lost in the Round of 16 to Andre Shelby of the USA in the Men's individual compound open after qualifying eighth.
