Joseph Francis Cairnes (May 26, 1907 – March 3, 1993) was an American engineer and baseball executive.
He trained as an engineer, and served as director of public works for Massachusetts.
[1] Cairnes joined the front office of the Boston Braves in 1947 as director of their farm system.
[1][2] During his presidency, Cairnes attempted to negotiate with the county to build a new baseball stadium.
The club went on to appear in the 1957 World Series where they faced the New York Yankees and won the championship.
