Joy Carroll Wallis

Joy Carroll Wallis[1] is an English clergywoman who was a vicar in London for ten years, then one of the first women ordained a priest of the Church of England in 1994.

[2] In 1997 Carroll married American theologian and writer Jim Wallis.

[4] Wallis was adviser, inspiration and role model for Richard Curtis' television series The Vicar of Dibley.

[6] After moving to the United States, she was licensed as a priest of the Episcopal Church.
