She is the incumbent Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, serving from 3 July 2024.
Tshabalala has served as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2019, and previously from 2011 to 2014.
She entered the National Assembly of South Africa on 19 October 2011 as a replacement for Noluthando Mayende-Sibiya.
In July 2013, she became a member of the ad hoc committee on the Appointment of the Auditor General.
[4] In a cabinet reshuffle on 6 March 2023, Tshabalala was appointed Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation by president Cyril Ramaphosa.
