[3] During the Israel–Hamas war, many civilians in Gaza were ordered to evacuate to humanitarian safe zones, depopulating many areas of the strip.

[7] The 28 May attack sparked international condemnation, and Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu dubbed it a "tragic error.

[11][1] The shelling landed in an area of the camp near the Palestinian International Committee of the Red Cross, damaging the structure of the building.

[13] A Palestinian Civil Defence worker stated that two locations in al-Mawasi camp were hit by the Israeli bombardment, with the second one being closer to the entrance of the ICRC.

[2] The Gaza Health Ministry announced a death toll of at least 25 killed and 50 injured, and accused the Israel Defense Forces of the bombings.
