As Lativi, the network was test broadcast on 17 January 2002 at 4:00pm local time, and was officially formal launched took place on 30 July 2002 at 4:00pm.

It was initially owned by businessman and Pasaraya Department Store's owner Abdul Latief, who was previously also the Minister of Labor.
