Karabayır (Kurdish: Zengan, Syriac: Zangan) is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Dargeçit, Mardin Province in Turkey.
[2] The village is populated by Kurds of the Erebiyan tribe and had a population of 1,020 in 2021.
[1][3] Zangan (today called Karabayır) was historically inhabited by Syriac Orthodox Assyrians.
[4] In 1915, there were 30 Assyrian families.
[5] Amidst the Sayfo, they were killed by the Ali Rammo tribe.
