Karin Åström

Karin Åström (born 1953) is a Swedish politician, who served three terms as a member of the Riksdag for the Social Democratic Party from 2004 to 2014, representing Norrbotten County.

[4] In 2013 she was elected President of the Nordic Council for the year 2014.

As President of the Nordic Council, she criticized the Russian decision to hold a referendum in Crimea on accession as illegitimate and unacceptable.
