Karpogory

Karpogory (Russian: Карпого́ры) is a rural locality (a selo) and the administrative center of Pinezhsky District, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Pinega River.

Several kilometers downstream from Karpogory, the Pinega accepts the Pokshenga, one of its major tributaries, from the left.

In the 19th century, Karpogory was an administrative center of Karpogorskaya Volost and was part of the Pinezhsky Uyezd of the Arkhangelsk Governorate.

This line is expected to become part of the Belkomur project[10] — a railroad connecting Arkhangelsk via the Komi Republic with the Perm Krai and the Ural Mountains.

An unpaved road along the Pinega connects Karpogory with Arkhangelsk on the north and the village of Zanyukhcha on the south.
