Katana Gégé Bukuru

Katana Gégé Bukuru (born 31 December 1963 in the Democratic Republic of Congo) is a Congolese activist fighting for women rights.

[1] Bukuru is known as the "Iron Lady" of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), for her courageous commitment to the struggle for women's rights.

The association tends to provide help and support to the victims of sexual assault and violence, notably by organizing workshops and trainings for women who are to become leaders in their field.

[4] SOFAD's mission is to train and mobilize women activists, enhance their participation to the protection and promotion of Human Rights, and facilitate the rehabilitation of victims of all forms of violence.
