Keams Canyon (Hopi: Pongsikya or Pongsikvi; Navajo: Lókʼaaʼdeeshjin) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Navajo County, Arizona, United States, on the Hopi Reservation.
Pongsikya is a narrow box canyon that is named after a plant of edible greens that survived along the seasonal stream that drains from Antelope Mesa and flows through the 3 mi (5 km) long canyon.
[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 9.3 square miles (24 km2), all land.
The Cedar Unified School District serves Keams Canyon.
The tribal (affiliated with the Bureau of Indian Education) and open Hopi Junior/Senior High School is also located in Keams Canyon.
