[1][2][3] Sutherland was one of the referees for the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals along Bill McCreary, Dan O'Halloran, and Stephen Walkom.
[4] Sutherland officiated the gold medal game men's ice hockey tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
[5] Kelly was recognized on February 6, 2024 by the NHL for reaching 1500 games in his career.
