The partnership would remain the same until 1946, when Philip D. Creer, director of architecture at RISD, became partner.

Mather left in 1953, when the partnership was reduced to Creer, Kent, Cruise & Aldrich.

In 1956 Creer was selected as the head of the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin.
