Khulna Municipality, established in 1884, is one of the major divisional city corporations of Bangladesh.

Basically, Khulna City Corporation is a formation under the local government administration of Bangladesh to regulate the city area of Khulna, which is under the Ministry of Local Government & Rural Development (LGRD).

That time Khulna municipality was consisted with Tootpara, Sheikhpara, Charabati, Helatala and Koyla ghat area.

It is the third largest city corporation of Bangladesh in terms of total population.

Khulna City Corporation (KCC) has announced a budget of ৳1083 crore (US$89 million) for 2023-24 fiscal year.
