Kirk Deighton

Kirk Deighton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England.

[2] The name of the village derives from Kirk (meaning church) and Dĩc-tūn; a town surrounded by a moat or ditch.

Kirk Deighton Hall is a late 18th century private residence situated off Mark Lane and is Grade II listed.

Kirk Deighton amenities serve residents of the Ainsty and Badgerwood areas of north-east Wetherby.

It was demolished in 2012 and part of the land on which it stood was sold for housing raising funds for a new village hall, which was officially opened on the 8 September 2013.

[15] Within the village is Kirk Deighton SSSI,[16] a Site of Special Scientific Interest that is home to a population of Great Crested Newts (Triturus cristatus).
