Kite (sailboat)

[1][2][3] The design was built by Newport Boats in Newport Beach, California and Mobjack Manufacturing Corp. in Gloucester, Virginia starting in 1965, but it is now out of production.

[1][3][4][5] The Kite is a recreational sailing dinghy, built predominantly of fiberglass.

It has a single sail catboat rig, a slightly raked stem, an angled transom, a transom-hung rudder controlled by a tiller and a daggerboard.

[1][3] The boat has a draft of 3.00 ft (0.91 m) with the centerboard extended and 5 in (13 cm) with it retracted, allowing beaching or ground transportation on a trailer.

[1][3] For sailing the design is equipped with boom vang and a center-boom-mounted mainsheet.
