Koderma district

Dhawajadhari Pahar is a hill dedicated to lord Shiva, where at Mahashivratri many devotees assemble to worship the god.

Chanchal dham (hill) which is located 12 km (7.5 mi) from Nawadih railway station and 30 km (19 mi) from Koderma junction railway station, is dedicated to Maa Chanchalni.

Koderma district is headed by Deputy Commissioner who is an IAS officer.

In 2006 the Indian government named Koderma one of the country's 250 most backward districts (out of a total of 640).

According to the 2011 census Koderma district has a population of 716,259,[4] roughly equal to the nation of Bhutan[5] or the US state of Alaska.
