The constituency encompasses Bhurungamari and Nageshwari upazilas.

[1][2] The constituency was created in 1984 from a Rangpur constituency when the former Rangpur District was split into five districts: Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Rangpur, Kurigram, and Gaibandha.
