The census-designated place is just downstream from the Grizzly Valley Dam, which impounds Lake Davis.

In the state legislature, Lake Davis is in the 1st Senate District, represented by Republican Megan Dahle,[7] and the 1st Assembly District, represented by Republican Heather Hadwick.
