[6] The league was accepted as a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Apprentice Program in July 2012,[7] and became a full member of the WFTDA in June 2013.
In 2016, Lansing Derby Vixens hosted a WFTDA Division 2 Playoff tournament at the Summit Sports and Ice Complex in Dimondale,[9] leading to recognition as a "Community Champion" by the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau for bringing the event and its associated visitors and business to Lansing.
[10] East Lansing Roller Derby was also founded in 2010, initially practicing at Demonstration Hall at Michigan State University in East Lansing.
