He used to play for the Danish national team and the Spanish clubs SDC San Antonio and BM Altea.

Jørgensen started playing handball at Fladså HK with his first professional club being the Copenhagen based Virum-Sorgenfri.

In 2004 he reached the final of the EHF European League with BM Altea, where they lost to German club THW Kiel.

Here he won the Spanish Championship in 2005, and reached the final of the 2006 EHF Champions League.

[2] Immidiately after ending his playing career, he became the assistant coach of the Danish women's national team.
