Learning to Talk

Learning to Talk is the first short story collection by English author Hilary Mantel published in 2003 by Fourth Estate.

Most of the stories are narrated by an adult thinking about their childhoods, many of which echo Hilary Mantel's life[1] Upon release, Learning to Talk was generally well-received among British press.

The Daily Telegraph reported on reviews from several publications with a rating scale for the novel out of "Love It", "Pretty Good", "Ok", and "Rubbish": Daily Telegraph, Guardian, Sunday Times, and TLS reviews under "Love It" and Literary Review review under "Pretty Good" and Independent On Sunday review under "Ok".
