Leganes, Iloilo

Like most Philippine towns that sprawl outward from the capital, is made up of houses, farms and light agricultural industry.

Leganes is a part of the Metro Iloilo–Guimaras area, centered on Iloilo City.

For many centuries, Leganes was considered an unremarkable area, primarily consisting of wetlands, marshes, and swamps.

97, Leganes was removed from Santa Barbara and merged with Jaro, effective from January 1, 1916.

This change officially took effect on January 1, 1940, marking the formation of the municipality of Leganes.
