She was a research assistant for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida in Dade County from 1963 to 1965.

Her service was terminated on October 6, 2001, due to her death from complications of brain cancer in Coral Gables, Florida.
The Lenore Carrero Nesbitt Public Service Scholarship was established at the University of Miami School of Law in her honor.
