Lentinus is a genus of fungi in the family Polyporaceae.
The genus is widely distributed, with many species found in subtropical regions.
[3] The genus name Lentinus is derived from the Latin lent, meaning "pliable", and inus, meaning "resembling".
As of July 2017[update], Index Fungorum accepts 120 species of Lentinus.
