Leonardo Nemer Caldeira Brant[1][2] (born 15 July 1966) is a Brazilian jurist and International law scholar.
He is also a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)[3] and the founder of the International Law Center[4] (CEDIN), in Belo Horizonte.
From 2000 to 2021, he was also a Tenured Professor of Public International Law at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte.
He is the Chief editor of the periodical, which is published in several foreign languages and distributed to the largest and most relevant Universities and international academic centers.
Its main goal is to establish in the country an annual publication engaged in the promotion and consolidation of the Latin-American view of International Law.
In 2009, also as a visiting professor at the Institut des Hautes Études Internationales, he taught at the Université Panthéon Assas Paris II, France.
[citation needed] In June 2014, Brant was one of the candidates nominated by the Brazilian Government for the position of judge at the International Criminal Court.
