[citation needed] From 12 February 1915, was Bishop of Yerevan (Armenia), vicar of the Georgian exarchate.

[citation needed] On 7 June 1919, by order of Sergey Kirov, he was arrested and charged (along with Archbishop Mitrophan of Astrakhan) with organization of the White Guard conspiracy.
