Hoffman's early education and training included gymnastics, ballet camps, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Herbert Berkoff Studios in New York.

Film acting work included Avalanche (1978),[3] Deadly Friend (1986),[4] Trust Me (1989) and Naked Gun (1988).

[5] Hoffman played the Hall Guard (Krueger) in Nightmare on Elm Street (1984),[5][6] and performed stunt work in I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978), Motel Hell (1980), Resurrection (1980), Clue (1985), Alien Nation (1988), Mars (1997) and Mystery Men (1999).
