According to the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center, 22.4% of the district's pupils lived at 185% or below the Federal Poverty Level[3] as shown by their eligibility for the federal free or reduced price school meal programs in 2012.

A wide variety of clubs, activities and an extensive athletics program are offered to Lewisburg Area School District students.

The district administration played a leading role in founding the PHAC in Fall 2008.
