Lim Yi Wei (Chinese: 林怡威; pinyin: Lín yí wēi; born 27 November 1989) is a Malaysian politician who has served as a member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kampung Tunku since May 2018.
[1] After graduating, Lim was a conference producer at Incisive Media’s Hong Kong (now known as Infopro Digital Risk (IP) Limited) office.
[citation needed] Spurred by the Hong Kong Umbrella Movement, Lim returned to Malaysia in January 2016 to enter politics.
She won the seat with a majority of 30,444 votes (89.05%), beating MCA’s Tan Gim Tuan,[2] becoming Kampung Tunku's first female representative and one of the youngest candidates in Selangor.
She also actively supports sports development, namely the Selangor rugby men’s and women’s teams,[9] frisbee, futsal and skateboarding.
