Lions–Packers rivalry

They first met in 1929 when the Lions, originally based in Portsmouth, Ohio and known as the Portsmouth Spartans, were an independent team prior to joining the NFL the following season.

The Lions and Packers have been division rivals since 1933, when both teams were part of the NFL's Western Conference until 1970, and subsequently the NFC Central, now referred to as the NFC North.

As a result, this rivalry stands as the longest uninterrupted competition in the NFL.

The two teams have met twice in the playoffs, with the Packers winning both games.
