Lisa Cano Burkhead (born 1970/1971)[1] is an American educator and politician who served as the 36th lieutenant governor of Nevada from 2021 to 2023.
[3] Prior to serving as lieutenant governor, Cano Burkhead was a teacher and principal in Clark County, Nevada schools.
[3] She ran for a full term but was defeated by Stavros Anthony, a member of the Las Vegas city council.
She was chief of staff to Richard A. Carranza, Nevada's northwest region superintendent before becoming principal of Fertitta Middle School from 2010 until 2015.
[8] Cano Burkhead said that two of her main focuses as lieutenant governor were salaries for state educators and providing sufficient supplies for schools.
