It is fielded by the Royal Belgian Football Association, the governing body of football in Belgium, and competes as a member of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which encompasses the countries of Europe.
Despite the first Belgium international game taking place on 1 May 1904, the first player to reach 25 caps for his country was Armand Swartenbroeks, who played his 25th match against England on 1 November 1923.
