Cristiano Ronaldo is a close second place, recording 34 hat-tricks for Real Madrid; no other player has scored more than 23.

Messi and Ronaldo also share the record for most hat-tricks in a single La Liga season, with Messi scoring eight in 2011–12 and Ronaldo equalling this feat in 2014–15.
