The Last Ship is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series based on a novel of the same name by William Brinkley.

The ship reaches Norfolk and makes contact with several teams of Navy pilots and SEALs and scattered remnants of other branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and civilian medical and scientific experts.
It is found that several labs are up and running throughout the world, and several planes are sent to deliver and spread the cure.
In the end, the crew of the Nathan James, bolstered by reinforcements, decide to return to sea to continue their work on spreading the cure.
