List of burials at Mount Auburn Cemetery

Mount Auburn Cemetery is a historic, "garden-style" burial ground in Boston, Massachusetts, located between Cambridge and Watertown, and dedicated in 1831.

There is an important instance in which burial at Mt, Auburn was proposed, but did not happen: the abolitionist John Brown, executed by Virginia in 1859.

His friend Wendell Phillips, meeting the funeral party in Troy, New York, hoped to take the body to Boston for burial in Mount Auburn Cemetery,[1] as Charles Turner Torrey had been.
