The Canadian Armed Forces also operate several institutions in Ontario that also bear the name "college".

The modern college system in Ontario which focuses on vocational training was established through Bill Davis' Bill-153 on May 21, 1965.

These are privately operated institutions which must be registered and approved by the provincial Superintendent of Career Colleges.
