This is a list of communal flags in France.

Communal flags are rarely used in France as communes usually favor coats of arms.

As a result, the info presented in this list also describes coats of arms.

The colours of the former flag are derived from the municipal coat of arms, similar to the Belgian flag.

A white flag sown with black ermines, with the city's coat of arms in the center, was used on the Rennes City Hall in contemporary times.
