This is a list of current and former official residences of governors in the United States.
Most U.S. States have at least one official residence, the exceptions are five states; Arizona, Idaho, Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island.
[1] The official residences include private homes that were bequeathed or sold by private citizens to state governments, as well as buildings that were constructed specifically for the governor.
[2] The California Governor's Mansion was originally vacated in 1967, but returned to regular use from 2015 to 2019.
[3][4] Other states have unofficial residences used by their governors.
